Garden Clubs of Australia Biannual Conference (Queensland)
September 11-15: Garden Clubs of Australia Biannual Conference in Townsville, Queensland. Enjoy ‘Spring’ North Queensland style and join in the many tours and activities. Enjoy the country atmosphere of the 68th Giru Agricultural and Horticultural Show on Saturday 10 September or any of the other many tours and activities available in NQ. Stay to enjoy the Townsville Orchid Society Spring Show which is on 16 and 17 September. Gardeners have taken on the challenges and created amazing gardens from Waterwise Gardens with Adeniums, Bromeliads, Euphorbias, Succulents, Cacti, Grevilleas, Ixoras, Melaleucas, Bougainvillea and many other dry climate plants, while others have created Tropical Gardens by creating a micro climate using various large trees including Mango, Poinciana, Gums and towering Palms with Acalyphas, Crotons, Dracaenas and Cordylines allowing understory plantings of Ferns including Maiden Hair Ferns, Elkhorns, Staghorns, Orchids, Begonias, Iris, Philodendrons and Alacosias just to name a few.
